The National Institute of Cultural Heritage of Ecuador is a governmental Institution which is encouraged of the preservation and safeguarding of the Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage. In fact, is has managed all the responsibility of sharing the Cultural Heritage information in every way it can. In 2014, the Institute executed several improvements in its inventory system. As a result, the Information System of Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage was launched for solving the diffusion needs. The Information System of Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage (SIPCE in Spanish acronyms) is an IT tool that contains the information of the Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage Inventory. It is composed by five ambits which represent the organization of Ecuadorian heritage. Each ambit has specific inventory forms that contain detailed information of the heritage items. It is used for consultancy, statistics reports, maps and research.
